Longing for Existance Ch. 1


Benji and Donyelle held hands as they left the restaurant.

"So where do you want to go next?" Benji asked cheerfully.

"hmm, well we were supposed to meet Allison and Ivan after we ate" Donyelle said

"Oh ok, lets go!" Benji screamed as he ran across the street.

Donyelle laughed and followed Benji across the street. Benji, being the goofy guy that he is, skipped into the street and shook his booty at people walking by.

Donyelle laughed uncontrolably, "haha! Benji that was hilarious! Did you see how that girl was looking at you? haha" Donyelle looked up and didnt see Benji. "Benji?" She screamed as she looked around. She looked at where Benji was standing. There was a big crowd surrounding Benji's unconcious body in the middle of the street....

Donyelle ran and pushed her way through the crowd. She saw Benji lying in the street. She fell to the floor. And put her shaking hands on Benji's cold body, and she began to cry. "It was a hit and run!" Someone screamed. "Someone call 911!!!" Donyelle shouted through her tears. As someone pulled out there cell phone, Donyelle touched Benji's freezing face. She ran her fingers through his soft dark hair. Donyelle touched the back of his head and quickly jumped up, Benji's blood was all over her hand. "Its a bullet wound!" She screamed. She turned to the person who claimed it was a hit and run. When she looked at him, he realized that Donyelle had found out that Benji had been shot. The man, ran as fast as he could. Before Donyelle could look at his face, he got into his car and drove off.

Finally the ambulance came. "Maam?" "Yes!" Donyelle said with her eyes filled with hope. "We have found that Benji here, has gotten a bullet to the head. He could be severly injured. He might go into a comma." "Donyelle looked at the man in disbelief, she bursted into tears" He tried to comfort her. But Donyelle just shook his hand off of her shoulder and walked over to the ambulance. She touched Benji's face and let out a soft giggle through all of her tears. Its the first time she had ever seen Benji without him pulling a face. She touched his lips, and kissed them softly. She held his hand. "You can get through this I know you can." She put his hand up to her heart and silently cried as the ambulance was driven off to the hospital.

"Maam?" The driver asked softly. "Yes?" "Did he have any...enemies?" Donyelle looked up at the man with tears in her eyes "Well, there was this one guy" "Oh, who is he, this might help us find the shooter." Donyelle looked at Benji, and looked back at the man. "His name was." Donyelle paused and took an uncomfortable sigh and started to say the name of the person that she was trying to avoid ever since that dark night, when everything went wrong. Donyelle looked up with complete fear in her eyes.."Anthony..."

Donyelle started hysterically crying. "Who is he?" The man asked.

"He was my ex. And when I broke up with him everything went completely wrong" The driver looked at Donyelle with sympothy. "What happened?" "He got really mad and broke a glass bottle. He put it up to my neck and was about to kill me. But some one came in so he stopped. And he said...He said-" Donyelle could barely speak. She breathed slowly and tried to continue. "He said that if I ever dated someone else that he would kill them first and then he would kill me!" Donyelle put her hand on her head and let out a sob.

The driver just looked at her, shocked at what he had just heard. Donyelle kissed Benji's forehead and held his hand if hers. In comeplete fear for both of there lives.

When they arrived at the hospital Benji was rushed into the Emergency Room. Donyelle was forced to wait outside.

After 30 minutes passed Donyelle was allowed to go into Benji's room. She smoothed down his feavered eyebrow and put her hand on his chest. "I love you" she said quietly

Donyelle heard the door fly open. She backed into a corner when she saw who it was... "Anthony!" She said with fear cracking through her voice. "Hey, sweetheart, long time no see." Anthony reached into his pocket and took out his gun. He slowly walked towards Benji. Benji lied in the bed in a deep comma.

Anthony put the gun to Benji's forehead. "Hey, this time I wont miss!" He slowly began to pull the trigger.

Donyelle ran behind him and banged a chair over his back. He dropped the gun and fell to the floor. "She just doesnt learn" He said with an evil glare. As Donyelle tried to run out of the room Anthony grabbed the gun. He took a shot and hit Donyelle in her left leg. "AAHH" she screamed in pain.

Benji started to squirm around in his bed. When he heard the shot, his eyes opened "DONYELLE!" he screamed. Donyelle fell to the floor in pain. Benji was awake but too weak to move. "Please someone help! Someone please help her!" Anthony turned around "Hmm, your awake. This will be even more intersting!" " No! Please dont hurt him. please!" Donyelle pleaded as she grabbed her leg in pain. "Please Anothony, Im begging you!" "Take me, just dont hurt Benji! Please!"

"You know Donyelle" He walked over to her and stroked her hair. "Your right, maybe before I kill your boyfriend here, I can have a little fun." He grabbed Donyelle and left the hospital. "NOO!"Benji screamed "NOO! Come Back Here!!! Dont touch her!"...

Donyelle kicked and screamed. "Get off of me! get off!!" Anthony threw her into the back seat of a car. And sat in the drivers seat. Donyelle screamed in pain because of her bleeding leg. Donyelle looked out the window. Hoping to see Benji there, but there was no Benji. There was noone. Noone but Anthony.

Benji, now enraged with anger, ripped off the tubes that were connected to him and limped out of the room. He rushed outside and saw the car driving off.

He thought about what he was going to do. Then a car pulled up in front of the hospital.Out of the darkness came two familiar faces ran towards Benji. "Hey! We heard about the car accident! Are you okay?" Allison asked while she hugged Benji "It wasnt a car that hit me" "Oh, so what was it?" Ivan asked. "It was a bullet" Allison and Ivan's jaw dropped. And they looked blankly at Benji.

"Okay Okay. We have to catch that car!" "What??" Ivan asked after he finally snapped out of his OMGness "Ill explain later! Just gimee the keys!" Allison and Ivan jumped in the car and Benji started up the engine. Benji explained to Allivan about Anthony while he chased after the car.


Donyelle looked in the back of the car and saw Benji speeding down the highway, catching up to her and Anthony. Donyelle smiled but was scared to death that he would be able to make it in time. Anthony noticed that Benji was catching up and sped even faster.


As Benji started to press the gas harder the car slowly came to a stop. It was out of gas.

Donyelle saw that the car stopped and didnt know what to do. She just looked out the window until the car became more and more distant, until it disappeared...

The gun fired, it was like the bullet moved in slow motion getting closer and closer. Benji closed his eyes and knew that this was his time. But just then Anthony fell to the floor and the gun droppd out of his hand. As Benji opened his eyes he saw Allison standing in front of Anthony with a gun and he sighed in relief, but cringed when he saw how badly Donyelle's leg was. Allison gave him the signal that the police arrived and Donyelle an Benji took a deep breath still shocked about what happened and how fast it all went, and they drove down the dark highway to the hospital.

Finally the police came and put Anthony in the cop car. Anthony grunted to one of the police offers to come over to him. He walked over to Anthony. "What?" He said angrily. "Hey, if you" He began to whisper so only the policeman heard. Ivan felt something suspicious about the whispering but didnt go over to confirm it. All he heard was "....55th street....Donyelle Jones...yeah, at night, like 12:00? Ill give you triple your salary" At this point Ivan knew that something was going on so he walked over to the car. "Sir, I can handle this so if you could please step back I can take him down to the station." The police said, trying to keep Ivan as far away from the car as possible. Ivan nodded but still felt something in his gut. He figured it wasnt anything so he walked away.
Ivan asked the cops for a ride home since theirs was out of gas. The policeman agreed and dropped Ivan and Allison off at Allison's apartment.

As they both entered the building, the car drove off into the dark road. "Where is it?" The policeman asked quickly "Its in my apartment" As the car pulled up to his apartment Anthony stepped out and walked up the long stairs to his apartment. Anthony walked through the door, got 2 large briefcase filled with 100 dollar bills, and rushed downstairs without looking too shifty. Before he handed the cop the briefcases he whispered "12:00" "Okay, okay!" The cop said as he greedily snatched the briefcases out of Anthony's hands.
Anthony ran back upstairs, and waited..he waited until 12:00....

Benji and Donyelle finally reached the hospital. Benji rushed to park the car in the hospitals parking lot, nearly hitting the Red Sedan next to him. "Benji slow down!" Benji just ran around the car and quickly opened Donyelles door. He carried her carried her in his arms and rushed to the hospital. "Excuse me nurse" Benji said as he held Donyelle in his arms. The nurse grunted and handed Benji a stack of papers to fill out. Benji threw the papers angrily and the nurse jumped. She looked up and saw that Donyelle was severely bleeding. "Oh" She said "yeah!" Benji said, cutting her an angry glare. Donyelle was rushed into the ER room. Benji holding her hand. "Excuse me, you cant come any further" "What?" The nurses blocked Benji's way. And he slowly lost grip of Donyelle's hand. "NO!" He tried to pas through the nurses. "No, Im not leaving her!" "Clam down sir, please" "IM NOT! I wont leave her!" Benji screamed. "I WONT!" One of the nurses grabbed for a needle on a cart. "I WONT!! I wont! I..i..wont..no..Donyelle.." Benji's words became slower and softer as the needle penetrated his skin.
Benji fell to the ground and started snoring.

8:37

"Benji. Benji" Benji heard a voice calling his name and someone lightly shaking his schoulder. He woke up to find Donyelle hovering over him. "Donyelle! Are you okay?" "Shh" Donyelle said as she put her finger over Benjis lips. "Everything is fine. I just need to get some rest and stay off my foot." Benji sat up in the bed, now fully awake. "Oh Okay, Lets go" He said as he smiles and sighed in reilief, happy that she wasnt hurt too bad. He lifted her in his arms and walked to the car. They drove along the dark highway, in silence. After a while, the car came to a stop. Benji breathed deeply, turned the car off, and took the keys out. "Wow" He said, not even looking at Donyelle. "Yeah" She replied. Even though they werent looking at each other, and it wasnt much. Benji and Donyelle knew exactly what the other meant and the both got out of the car. Benji walked over to Donyelle's side and lifted her in his arms and he walked up the stairs of the apartment building to get to 2E. "Left pocket" He said, still holding Donyelle. Donyelle reached into his left pocket and pulled out the keys for his apartment. Benji walked in the door and put Donyelle down on the sofa. He covered her with a blanket and she fell asleep as soon as her head hit the pillow. He stared at her for a while, watching her sleep peacefully. Eventually he got up, kissed her forehead. And went to sleep on the chair next to her.

9:48

"Donyelle??" Benji screamed, as he saw that the sofa where Donyelle once slept was empty. "In here sleepy head!" Donyelle shouted from the kitchen. Donyelle felt warm hands wrap around her waist. She leaned into his hug as he kissed her. She turned around and jumped back. "Anthony" she whispered. "Hey sweetness!" He replied, his hand slowly moving from her face, down to her neck, and creeping down her shirt. "Get off of me!" She tried to push him away but he wouldnt let go. Just then the kitchen window cracked and tiny pieces of glass rained down on Anthony and Donyelle. As Donyelle looked up she saw a figure coming towards her...she looked closer...it was...Heidi??? Donyelle was confused and so was Anthony. Heidi began to wave her hands in Anthony's face and chant "batchualmanu, batcualmanu" She said louder and louder. Anthony laughed "haha! Your stupid spells cant hurt me you dumb witch!" Anthony took out his gun and shot Heidi in her chest. Donyelle screamed as Heidi fell back onto her, "NOO" She screamed as Heidi's blood splattered across her face! "AHH" NOO" "Heidi! NOOOOOO" Donyelle was now screaming at the top of her lungs and drenched in sweat. "Donyelle! Donyelle!" She heard a voice and someone shaking her. "Donny it was just a dream,. wake up" Donyelle shot up and moved the blanket from over her. "Donyelle, you were having a nightmare." Donyelle put her hands through he hair and sighed deeply. "Im gonna go take a shower" "Okay" Benji said trying not to sound to worried about her.

Benji watched as Donyelle came out into the living room. "Hey Benji!" She said. Showers always got her in a better mood, no matter what happened. Even if a physco killer tried to kill her, shower made her feel better. Benji started to drift off into thought. "Benji?" "Oh, yeah?, Umm. Im should go take a shower too!" Benji said as he started to get up off of the chair. Benji went to take a shower.

11:56

Benji stepped out of the shower, dried himself off and started putting on his clothes as he headed for the living room? "Donyelle?" Benji said as he came into the living room. He went over to the sofa but DOnyelle wasnt there. He went to he Kitchen. "DONYELLE??" He screamed louder. Benji was trying to stay positive but he couldnt help but start thinking of what Anthony would do if he was with Donyelle alone. Benji started to panic as he ran through the house screaming Donyelles name. She wasnt in the Kitchen, or the living room, the bathrooms, no where. He went to his bedroom "Donyelle?" he said, hoping that he would find her. But she wasnt in there either. Benji heard a loud bang and jumped. He saw that it was alarm clock that fell off of the nightstand..he slowly reached down to pick it up and he put the clock back on the nightstand.......12:00
