MOOSE'S MONTAGE - TRUE COLORS

Hey guys! To commemorate the ending of NPBADATABHAIW (Though I'd be perfectly happy to extend that for the whole month... Or forever ; D), I have a montage. No, it's not the one I'm gonna narrate, because I can only work on that when my pernts aren't home, and they've been home far too much lately (They get really annoyed when they hear me talking to my computer in weird voices...). lol. This montage is to Phil Collin's "True Colors". I actually heard a different version of the song years before I heard this one (I think this one is the original). I don't know if you guys know the movie "Save The Last Dance" (I LOVE that movie, and I'm so pissed off that they're doing a remake!!), but it's a movie involing, obviously, dance, but it centers around an interracial couple, and that other version of this song plays during a scene when they're making out.

Anywho, I could go into a lot of detail about most of the clips, and why I picked that one, and stuff, but I'll just explain two main things, instead:

1) It is about their interracial romance (Shhhhh, it's still NPBADATABHAIW : D... Until midnight.). Actually, I made it to go along with my story, "Behind The Wall." Unfortunately, I haven't been able to update that in a few weeks. : (
2) It's about how Benji gave her the confidence she needed.

Yup, so, here it is. PLLLLEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAASSSSSSSSSSSSSSEEEEEEEEEEE COMMENT!!! *puppy dog eyes*

Sorry that the video's all fuzy : (. It didn't compress well from the purdy, clear video I have on iMovie. Also, it doesn't have any tour footge, because I haven't found any tour ideos that were downloadable. Let me know if you find some!

Much luuuuuuurv! Ooh, and Happy Halloween ; D

'Nother Tranjelleidison Interview

Thanks again for the link, skyofsmiles!

Travis: Yeah! It's the only way to keep sane!

Benji: By being insane.

MuchMusic.com: There's a lot of big personalities on the show, so who's your favourite non dancer to impersonate?

Benji: Brian Friedman's necklace.

Allison: Mary Murphy for sure!! Can I do it? WOOO! CALL THE FIRE DEPARTMENT! YOU'RE SMOKIN' HOT!

Travis: We impersonate Cat Deeley a lot, especially on tour cause her voiceover introduces us. We'll make fun of the way she says our names, how she says "America", how she says, "opa"...

Allison: OPA!!

Travis: She tries to say "Opa" like Natalie [a top 10 finalist], only she says, "ooopa!"

Allison: It's hysterical, we laugh every time.

MuchMusic.com: Do you have a song that reminds you of being on the show or on tour?

Travis: YES.

Heidi: It's by Corinne Bailey Rae, "Like A Star". (Laughs) It was a moment that we had with our disco choreographer --

Donyelle: Doriana!

Benji: Dolly-anna!

Heidi: We were doing a disco warm-up with her and she had this song playing, and she was just doing some really, really cool warm-ups.

Allison: We just really liked it!

Travis: (singing) "She's a beautiful girl, she's a beautiful girrrrl!" We hated those songs. [the songs used for "good-bye videos" for eliminated contestants]

Allison: If we hear those songs, we want to --

Benji: We vomit.

MuchMusic.com: I wanted to ask you that! So you're conditioned to instantly feel sad when you hear those elimination songs?

Allison: Yeah. It can make us angry. That's for sure.

Travis: On the tour we play all those videos of the people who were sent home and you hear those songs at least 15 times per show on tour. So imagine hearing that every day.

Allison: Well see, for me ...

Travis: Uh oh.

Others: (Laughing)

Allison: They weren't actually cut from the show and I was! So I heard that song. For me.

MuchMusic.com: What moment from the show really overwhelmed you in some way - made you laugh, bawl, scream?

Travis: I have two. One, when she [Allison] got sent home. It was unexpected and I kind of pooped my pants a little bit. Also when I made top four cause I thought I was supposed to be sent home when I was in the bottom three the week prior. But when they announced my name to stay, I freaked out cause that was my goal from the beginning of the show.

Allison: I wasn't even in the competition anymore but I went and watched the week after I got cut and I just remember getting really emotional when I saw Natalie and Ivan get cut. I knew what was going through their head and I felt really bad for them!

Donyelle: I think the most memorable for me was the very first show. When we walked out on stage and everybody started screaming, I was like, "oh my god." The saddest person for me going home was Martha. That one got me. She and I built a really close friendship over the course of the show. But the most amazing moment was the very first time we stepped out on to the stage. And Benji and I were first! We were freaking out!

Travis: When we walked out on the final show, people were screaming and it was like, this is it. Last competition week, we looked at each other like, "LOVE YOU!"

Everyone: (Laughing)

Benji: For me, one of the most defining moments of the show was, I think it was the week of the top 6, when Cat Deeley came out in this black -- she looked great. That was my defining moment.

Travis: (glaring) Of course you would say that.

Benji: No, I mean, I agree with - the very first moment we walked out. Un-buh-wee-ba-bul! Is it karma??

Everybody: MAYBE.

MuchMusic.com: Um, that was an inside joke. Ok.

Allison: Another hard moment was the first time we all changed partners.

Benji: Oh god, that was the WORST.

Everybody: (Jabbering, screaming in agreement)

Allison: That really was the hardest week.

Benji: Don and I were going THROUGH IT cause we did not want that to happen.

Allison: Everyone was onstage like, crying.

Travis: I was sad, but - it was a change, it was something new to experience. I always thought I was gonna dance with Heidi, and then I actually got to dance, and then I got contemporary --

[Everyone is glancing at the TV, which is playing an episode of So You Think You Can Dance]

MuchMusic.com: Is this weird for you [watching the show]?

Allison: So weird.

Benji: I haven't even seen most of them.

[Everyone starts to cat call Heidi, who is dancing a solo on TV]

Travis: I had one where they rhinestoned my entire name. I wrote it on my Myspace and now people try to out-do the rhinestone sign!

Benji: One person drew a full face portrait of me and it was so crazy that my mom took the picture and started making photocopies and passing it out. It was pretty cool. There was this one too where the person actually put her blood on it. All these little brown splots and I was like, "I hope that's not her blood." It was a little manic.

I can't put the pictures here, 'cause it won't let me, but here's the link to them: http://www.muchmusic.com/insidemuch/couplapics/so_you_think_you_can_dance/

Providence Is Shippery : D

Hello all!! Just coming out of lurkdom to share a few things I found while lurking on my day off from work today:

1) Did anybody get to read the spoilers/review on the Providence show on the Benjelle community livejournal? On the fox boards they were all chatting about it and how...wait for it... Benji said "I love you baby" sometime last night!!! MAJOR SQUEEE!! :) :) It was in the fox boards folder "Let's Talk Body Language" AND apparently Martha said that "She's on the SS Benjelle!!!!" YOWZA, and since she's friends with both of them, she's probably has the 411 on the behind the scene things :P :P I never really left the ship before, just had a toe playing in the water, but after reading all that, I definitely have 2 feet planted firmly on the ship's deck with my life preserver tightly belted and secure :) :)

2) Two different fans posted their videos from the final show in Providence. They're not the clearest but at least we can see some of the action and fun from last night :)

Go to Youtube and search under "aliciat3354" for one collection :) and

Copy and paste this link to see the list of what the other person has on youtube:
http://idolforums.com/index.php?showtopic=463158

3) After the MuchMusic interview in Toronto, the fab 5 did a interview segment off camera with either some fans or with another VideoJockey or what, but you can read and see some pics here: http://www.muchmusic.com/insidemuch/couplaquestions/so_you_think_you_can_dance/

Okay, I'm going back to lurking now, hee hee :) :) Sorry, it's so long!!! I hope I put a smile on somebody's face!!!

It's been a fun summer/fall folks!! Even though I rarely posted, I never missed my daily visit to see what's new on this page :) :)

oh yeah some more moments haha:
when donny was introducing the black mambo (which is so friggin fast in person... they were right during hte show... it's the fastest mambo in human history). anyway, that is the intro that donny talks about how benji picked heidi for his fave dance. She's like:"he picked another girl... over me.... he even proposed to natalie!?!" haha it was really funny.
There were a lot of cross-dressing moments, during the last broadway group #, all hte boys had skirts on over their pants.
during the martha/ivan krump routine, travis came out and did it w/ them was SO cool cause ivan and travis kinda battled a lil bit... travis is really good at krumping he should be in hip hop videos lol.
travis and dima did that ballerina thing like the person said they did in CT.

okay... i think that's it haha

Lyrics!

These are some of the most Benjelley lyrics ever! Big propz to Pineapple Princess (CC) for introducing me to this artist. Im in love iwth this song and many of her others! Im making a Benjelletage to "The Rain Don't Last" :) SO anyway, here are the lyrics....

Who Am I To Say by Hope www.myspace.com/hearhope

Love of my life, my soulmate
You're my best friend
Part of me like breathing
Now half of me is left

I don't know anything at all
Who am I to say you love me
I don't know anything at all
& who am I to say you need me

Color me blue I'm lost in you
Don't know why I'm still waiting
Many moons have come & gone
Don't know why I'm still searching

Don't know anything at all
& who am I to say you love me
I don't know anything at all
& who am I to say you need me

Hmmm hmmm mmm
Uhhh oohhh aahhh
Hooo aahhh ohh ohhh

Now you're a song I love to sing
Never thought it feels so free
Now I know what's meant to be
& that's okay with me

But who am I to say you love me
& who am I to say you need me
& who am I to say you love me

Mmmm Hmmm

I don't know anything at all
& who am I to say you love me
I don't know anything at all
& who am I to say you need me
I don't know anything at all

I don't know anything at all
I don't know anything at all
I don't know anything at all

hmm. I feel like these lyrics have already been mentioned. Oh well if there is one thing that I dont mind experiencing over and over again, its music ;)

Aww Lucky Cheesefaces!!

Jillie-Yo and Mizz Glib (Kemi!) got to talk to BENJI on the phone! Yah!! Squee!!!

Okay so Kemi commented on my page. Wubb you big cuzzy!

LMAO!! Well, he only talked to me for like a minute and just said that he was sorry I couldn't make it out for the show, and that hopefully I could make it to the DEMAND benefit, so it was really sweet. He came out last, so they were rushing him to sign all the autographs, but that was a truly nice moment, and hopefully I'll get to meet him and some of the others if I can go to the benefit. We'll see.

I didn't get to talk to Ryan, but he talked to one of my other good friends, 'cause he's officially her BFF now, and he was lookin for her at the show last night (they are truly BFF's, it's funny), so they called her up on the phone for him, so he could talk to her, lol. She just texted me right now to tell me about it, and I'll probably talk to her on the phone later. They really showed our group a lot of love, so I'm a happy camper. I was there with them in spirit, so it's all good. :-D

YAAAAY!!!

And Jillie-Yo posted a bulletin so I rushed to check out her blog :D
Haha! It's so silly. This is roughly how the conversation went:

Benji: HEEEY!!!
Me: OMG! OMG!!! Benji, I love you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Benji: How's it going?
Me: Uhhh... *takes a deep breath* Ok, I'm gonna try to calm down. Whew! Ok, Heeey Benji! How are you doing tonight?
Benji: I'm still sort of under the weather, actually.
Me: Awwww... feel better! So tonight's your last show, huh? How'd you feel?
Benji: I'm feeling good! Great! I'm actually just escorting your friends here...
Me: Hahah! They're crazy! Oh, I'm gonna miss you so much! You and Donyelle totally made my summer!
Benji: Awwww...
Me: It's just... you guys are just. Oh, man I'm getting emotional here! You and Donyelle are so awesome. You guys are magic onstage!
Benji: Thank you so much I really appreciate that!
Me: No problem! Thank YOU!
Benji: Well, I gotta get going now. Keep in touch, okay? I have my MySpace.
Me: Sure! I actually just commented on your page. Feel better okay! Rest up before diving in to the madness again!
Benji: Haha! I will! Bye!
Me: *dies*

*faints of jealousy* Luvv it!

-Taylor :P

Aww :( :(

I feel so sad for all of them! You can tell that they will miss each other! Ackk, that must be like losing my Benjelle Familia! *gasp* We dont speak of such nonsense!!

Jonesy said...
alrite well. everyone was really emotional last night cause it was the last performance, and you could tell through their dancing that they were giving it all they had. Plus at the beginning benji said that this was their last show so "anything goes" which included, some backstage hand running across the stage during the dima/natalie disco with only his underware on which caused natalie to laugh so hard they coudln't finish the routine, it was hilarious.

There were a lot of benjelley moments, they were both really emotional during their performances. During hte opening speech after technologic, donny started to talk about how everyone meant so much to her and she started to cry and then benji started to cry... it almost made me cry lol. Then, btw i saw a kiss behind the screen when they were changing for too much booty, i'm gonna say it was a kiss on the cheek considering all the recent developments. After too much booty, donny seemed extra flirty introducing the argentine tango then wat i've read in reveiews. She ran his fingers up his arm then like... took her leg and kinda put it inbetween his legs and went up and down all seductively... it was really cute and funny. The Vienesse (sp?) Waltz speech seemed like it was the usual from what i heard, during the dance he kissed her on the hand and hte cheek. At the end of the dance when they were bowing, they were both tearing up and hugged each other until the lights went off. During their b-way routine benji slapped her but and martha came out all of the sudden and started doing the dance w/ them lol.

More random moments: I already mentioned the guy running around in his underware. During the group disco there were these 2 random guys in sequence shirts dancing in the back and i thought it was pretty funny.
After the Rama Lama group dance the group was addressing the crowd, and martha's feather kept on hitting dima in the head, so i saw him whisper that to her, so she started hitting him in the head w/ his wig, it was really funny.
At the end of Benji's routine, all the boys came out and dropped their pants lol... that was a pleasant surprise.
During one of the intro's, travis came out in one of heidi's costumes and he said it was really sad that he could actually fit into it (I agree cause heidi is perhaps the smallest person i 've ever seen in real life). He was really cute and funny in it.
So lets talk about how benji proposed to natalie. it was after her solo and then benji was like natalie stay here for a second i have to talk to you. so then he started talkin about the week that they had together during the show when they were partners and how wonderful it was, then he pulled a ring out of his pocket and went donw on one knee and asked her to marry him. I was completely stonefaced i'm like... "this is not happening." he stood back up and she said yes and then he leaned in for a kiss. When i saw that i'm like... omfg, then they turned around and started laughing... it wasn't very funny to me lol.

At the end of the show one of the producers of the show... simon i think his name is started talkin about how special the dancers and the fans were and stuff. Then they all hugged and at the very end benji donny and martha shared a 3 way hug... it was very touching, you could tell they all loved each other very much.

Then was the waiting outside for the autographs and pictures. My friend and I got pictures w/ ivan, dima, benji, jaymz, donny, and travis. They are all so nice and sweet and humble in person. That was really refreshing to see that the fame didn't get to them too much. When they were signing autographs and benji and donny were about to pass each other they started like... dance battling each other lol. Like dancing around the trees and the parking meter. Then martha joined in, then ryan, then jaymz and it was like... a big group of them just dancing and being silly... it was so funny and sweet.
Jaymz was really nice in person i think i liked him hte most.
Benji was really nice and i asked him about his cold, he told me it spread to his throat. I asked him what he was doing after the tour and he said he's going to hawaii for some body healing thing... i didn't really listen lol in my head i was like "holy s*** i'm talkin to benji" lol
Allison & Natalie: really sweet we had like... conversations when we totally didn't have to they started talking which i thought was awesome
Travis: I said outloud "Omg it's travis this is awesome" lol and he just started to laugh... he's really really cute in person!! lol
Dima: I said "Hi Dmitry" when he walked by me to get to the end of the line and he said hi how are you... and he touched my arm... it was amazing lol
Donny: when she came by to give me an autography she tripped over the bike rack and she started to do the donny laugh. and she was like "they're trying to take me out" and i just started laughing.

So yea... that's my story lol it's pretty long and i hope moose and taylor don't mind! disclaimer: i don't like to proofread so... if i spelled something wrong or if something doesn't make sense... just ask me about it lol.

YAY!!! *drool* Travis bootyshaking/tutu wearing/pants dropping?? Why was'nt I at this tour?? ;D Please tell me that someone got pics of Benjelle and Trav :) :)

YAY for the Donny laugh. And *nervous laugh* at Benji proposing to Nat...

YAY Jonesy!! Wubber you! Thanks sooo much for posting this. Im sure Moosey wont mind :)

Thanks For Finding This, Nony! : D

Anyhow, here's a description of last night's show (from twop.com) and things haven gotten crazy.

I was able to go to the Waterbury, CT show last night, and let me tell you, they were ON last night. (We're specualting they were on a lot of DAyquil or something, since most of them are sick.) I'm not going to get into how great the dances were, I'm just going to talk about some of the improv they did.

During the intros in the beginning intros, after they all say their names, Ivan asks the crowd to shout out their names. Which he always does. This time, though, Benji and Travis jumped off stage and ran down the aisles with microphones.

Then, during the Too Much Booty intro, Travis turned around and shook his booty at the audience. The crowd loved it, of course.

EVeryone seemed really emotional during the show. Martha confirmed that Travis and Heidi were almost crying in the Bench routine. She said no one could look at each other and they had to tell each other not to talk to each other during the show.

At the end of the Viennese Waltz, Benji and Donyelle looked really emotional and walked off with their arms around each other and her head dropped onto his shoulder.

Midway through Sexy Back, benji ripped open his shirt. It was incredibly hot. Then, instead of ripping his shirt off during his solo, he dropped trou instead! He turned his back to the audience, dropped his pants, and posed for a second in flag dancer shorts. I felt very patriotic.

At the end, when they were letting the dancers run across stage again one at a time, Ivan came out after Natalie and he had Heidi's sunflower and just stood there and held it out towards her. She didn't see it, and kept dancing away in the other direction, and his face just fell and he walked off crestfallen. SO very cute.

Then Dmitry came, started to pull up his shirt, shook his finger in a "nah ah ah" way and just danced a bit. When it was Travis' turn, Dmitry and TRavis came out and Travis was wearing a tutu and DMitry lifted him while Travis did a little ballerina split thing. Hee. (Dima said afterwards that that was all spur of the moment.)

Benji walked across the floor holding a full-length mirror in front of his face, stopped, lowered it for a second, and then put it back up and walked off.

After the encore, Ivan and Benji did this quick little crab walk across the stage. So cute.

After the show, I got two Benji hugs, two Ryan hugs, and a Dmitry hug. Yes, I'm a hug whore and I'm not ashamed to admit it. And let me tell you, that was a whole lotta of awesome manflesh I got to hug last night. Plus, all three of them are complete sweeties.

Old Interviews

Thanks Nony!

Hi, It's Nony!

I don't know if you've seen this but here's an article from DanceSpirit.com. That interviews Bnji, Ivan, Travis, Martha, and Allison.

http://www.dancespirit.com/sytycd.html

This month's Dance Spirit has Blake McGrath who was on the first season of SYTYCD (though seriously I don't remember any of those people as well as I know this season's crew). I haven't read any of it yet.

But there's also an ad for the NYCDA (New York City Dance Alliance) that has b&w pics of a bunch of dancers/cherographers including Mia Michaels. But there's a big congratulations "We Know They Can Dance" and 2 color pics of Travis and 1 color pic of Allison adversting that they are going to be part of the tour.

Backstage Exclusive: SYTYCD Chicago
DS catches up with half of the Top 10 in the Windy City

By Lisa Arnett, Midwest Editor

Did You Know?
The Top 10 dancers have a combined 121 years of dance experience.
Runner-up Travis Wall is long-time best friends with last year’s winner, Nick Lazzarini.
244 different outfits are worn nightly by the dancers in the touring show.
The night before the finale, Benji was sent to the hospital and treated for exhaustion and dehydration…and ended up in a room next to Lindsay Lohan.
Since the second season of SYTYCD wrapped in August, the Top 10 have been piling in and out of a tour bus, road-tripping across the country to perform for adoring fans. When they complete their tour on October 29, they will have danced live for more than 120,000 people. On September 22, they took the stage in front of a sold-out crowd in Chicago.

The dancers ran the show—literally. Cat, Nigel and the judges were reduced to video spots while the Top 10 passed the mic to introduce each number, fished for laughs and got the audience riled up. As promised at the end of the season, the tour delivered re-tooled renditions of group openers, like Wade Robson’s zombie-rock routine, “Ramma Lamma Bang Bang,” and favorite duets, from Ivan’s first foray into contemporary with Allison to Annie Lennox’s “Why,” to Travis and Martha’s “Steam Heat,” after which the judges proclaimed them “the couple to beat.” Fans wearing t-shirts and hats emblazoned with "Tranji" were present en masse, and were appeased with a performance of Shane Sparks' geek-cool hip-hop routine. Each dancer also took the floor to showcase a polished, brand-new solo—without that bothersome “So you think you can dance, dance, dance…” sound byte cutting them off at the end. The best surprise of the night? A graceful duet Travis choreographed for himself and Natalie to “Flying Without Wings.”

There’s a lot new with the crew—some things superficial, and some running deeper. Natalie’s locks are dyed red, but she’s still wearing her trusty knee brace. Benji’s sporting a darker ’do with a funky bleached streak. Travis is nursing a back injury (“I just came from the chiropractor,” he told us. “After the show, I can barely walk.”).

Before the show, Benji, Martha, Ivan, Travis and Allison sat down with DS to answer the same four questions about the show, the tour and their futures.

DS: How has touring been different than the TV show?

BENJI SCHWIMMER: Both have pretty hectic schedules. The thing about the scheduling during the TV show [is] it was set everyday; we’d be waking up at the same time. Now, it’s different because depending on where we’re performing, sometimes it’s a 6-hour trip on bus, sometimes it’s a 3-hour trip. Either you can decide to sleep on the bus or you can wake up, go to your hotel room and sleep the rest of the night off.

ALLISON HOLKER: “[The tour] is a lot more relaxed. It’s still stressful because you’re performing in front of a lot of people, but it’s not a competition between us. We were all a family on the show, but it’s even a bigger family now on the tour. Before, we were always helping each other with our duos that week, but now…we can really hang out and truly open up to each other. It’s a lot more fun this way. We don’t have tons of time to relax, but when we do, we relax. We’re all chilling in our pajamas watching a movie.

IVAN KOUMAEV: “The tour is different because you’re not on camera anymore. You don’t have the chance to mess up. You have to do everything perfect; your formations have to be perfect. Everyone sees everything. There’re no breaks. You can’t just be like, hold on let’s stop shooting. You keep going and going no matter what happens. Last night’s [performance in St. Louis] is a prime example. Donyelle had an accident; she fainted, and during the 15-minute intermission, we switched [around] the whole second half. And no one had a clue. There’s no take two.”

MARTHA NICHOLS: All the choreography is already learned [and] we already know each other. Even though its more laid-back, we’re still on our toes because we have to make sure that each show is new and fun and exciting, because even though this is our eighth show, this is the audience’s first time seeing it. Even though the show is our job and this is what we’re here to do, we’re still friends and we’re friends first.

TRAVIS WALL: We’re used to looking into cameras and doing that whole thing. With the tour, you have to attack the dances differently because the person in the back row should feel it as much as the person in the front row. And with the camera, everyone saw the same thing. So it’s a lot different, and you can’t disappoint people from what they saw on the show, so you have to work twice as hard.

DS: What are your plans after the tour wraps?

ALLISON: There have been different offers, but we haven’t been able to accept anything because we’re on tour and still under contract [with Fox.] There’s one TV show that I might at least do one episode with, and there’s been some other movie offers, and assisting other choreographers. And then also, I’m going to be doing a lot of choreography and teaching with workshops. There’s been some dance, acting and modeling offers—I’ve been asked to model for some jeans [companies] and stuff like that. Dance is definitely my main love, but there’s a lot I need to explore.

IVAN: I don’t want time off. Because dance careers are short. I want to keep working and going for it. I don’t know: for the first time in my life, I don’t have anything [next], because usually I’d have school, but now I’m done with high school. I’m praying that something will come my way.

MARTHA: I’m going to go back home [in Raleigh, NC] to my dance studio and choreograph and teach there, and visit my little sisters and my family and my grandma. And then I think I might be moving to Los Angeles in January or February [of 2007] to pursue dancing.

TRAVIS: There’s going to be a week period when I take time off. I haven’t been home [to Virginia Beach] yet since the start of the show—since May—and that’s a long time. And then [after that I’m going] right straight to L.A.—Ivan and I are going to be roommates. And there’s some stuff planned I’m not allowed to talk about quite yet, but I’m very excited about it. So, it’s not the end of me yet.

BENJI: Gosh, I know don’t know. I think I want to go to Disneyland. I’d like to [take some time off] but it’s probably going to be impossible just because of so many things being booked. I’m moving to Hollywood, and I have couple of offers there. I just signed with [McDonald Selznick Associates] dance agency. I’ve had a couple interviews with some executives from Disney, and we’re producing a couple of ideas right now. There’s something for CBS, a TV show about dancers who live in L.A., kind of like the movie Crash, everything just kind of coincides, all different styles of dancing and somehow its all related. I’m also possibly recreating one of the roles that Fred Astaire played in a movie, [Flying Down to Rio,] they’re changing the name, though, because they want it set in Cuba, because I’m fluent in Spanish so I’d be able to speak in both languages. These things take a long time [so] it’s not going to happen over night; we’ll see what happens. I’m being invited to come [teach at] to the more traditional jazz and hip-hop conventions, which is something I’d never thought I’d be doing. I mean, I teach at swing conventions all the time.

DS: What’s your dream job?

IVAN: If it was [back-up] dancing for somebody, I’d be dancing for Justin [Timberlake.] I absolutely love his choreography; everything’s just dope about him and I enjoy watching him. As far as long term goals, I want to get to a point where not only I am a respected dancer [and] respected choreographer, but I want to be respected for how I did my career, so people look back at me and are like, “Wow, that’s how I want to do things, all the way from the start to the finish.” Any mistake that’s ever made, I want it to be a mistake that everyone learns from and that I learn from and keep moving. I want my career to be flawless and be respected by the dance community, if not the world.

MARTHA: My goal in life was to always just have a job doing what I love to do. So whether it’s behind somebody in a music video, or in a huge ensemble scene in a movie, or a principal dancer in a company, or choreographing at dance studios—I just want a job doing what I love so when I get to [age] 40 I don’t regret anything. And my one long-term goal is to be in one Broadway musical with a leading role.

TRAVIS: Absolutely more TV, which hopefully you will see. I’d love to dance for an artist—but with [the tour], we’re not back-up dancing for anyone. It’s just us, and we’re filling out a 4,000-seat theater—it’s unheard of. And I want to push that envelope more. I want to push dancing on television and in movies more, especially contemporary dancing. People don’t really know about contemporary dancing, and I think I’m in a great standing point to push that a little more and I plan to do that. Absolutely [I want to be] directing and choreographing stuff. I was doing so many more choreography jobs than dance jobs when I came on this show; I came onto the show to push my dancing more. I want to be groundbreaking. I want to be remembered when I’m dead. I’m really young and I can do so much more…so there’s no downtime. You’re always thinking about something new.

BENJI: You know what it would be? To write my own major motion picture that’s a complete dance picture. Totally artistically done, not just your typical two people from the hood, one white girl, one black guy—I mean, its so cliché now to do movies like that. I would love to see a movie where it’s based on just straight dancing—not a Fame style thing, not [characters] overcoming boundaries. Like Disney did with Fantasia, I want to do that, but with dance. And I want it to win awards, not just for cinematography, but everything. I want it to be a best picture. I think that would be amazing. No one’s ever gotten to that point, with the exception of Fred Astaire and Gene Kelly back in the day. That would be amazing to incorporate all different styles, to do something totally amalgamic and new and refreshing.

ALLISON: That’s so hard—because I’m very versatile and I like to do every style of dance, it’s hard for me to pick. I want to actually start competing as a ballroom dancer. I want to choreograph for [music] artists; I want to dance for an artist. I’d love to own my own company; I’d love to dance in a company. I would love to be in a Broadway show. I’m only 18, so there’re so many doors I can go into.

DS: If you were calling the shots, what would you change about next year’s season?

TRAVIS: I’ve been pushing to the producers on the show to come back and choreograph next year or be someone’s assistant. I want to be involved with the show as much as I can. I would definitely have some new judges. I think Tyce [Diorio] should be a judge. I think Wade [Robson] should be a judge. I think they both know what they’re talking about; I think we had some judges on the show this year that really didn’t know what they were saying. And I think people forget that the judges persuade America’s vote.

IVAN: What’s funny is that I came into this competition having a lot of ideas on how it should be done and what’s wrong with it; I came out of it understanding exactly why it’s run the way it is. The perfect example is when you’re auditioning, [a judge will] say comments like, “You wasted your own time. You wasted our time. What are you doing here? Go home!” To me, that’s real harsh. That could really break someone’s dream of being a dancer. So it made me feel bad and [I thought] I’d change that. Leaving the show, it makes a lot of sense why they say that. And anyone who ever auditions for this show has to understand [that] it’s a TV show. It’s not a normal audition. They’re making television, and people love to see drama. They love to see people being mean, they love to see tears, they love to see people break down. They’re giving them what America wants. And when America goes, “Oh, that’s so sad,” that’s exactly the emotion we’re drawing out of everyone. So, it’s not all just about dance. It’s a lot about working to the public. It was tough [to deal with] at first but once it clicked and I understood what it was, it got a lot easier.

MARTHA: I would take out a little bit of ballroom and throw in more modern, tap, lyrical and contemporary. [For example,] there was only one jazz performance the entire season, but there were so many salsas and Argentine tangos and smooth waltzes. And I understand that that’s very hard to do; I just think it would have given the show more variety and it would have shown more abilities of the dancers. If you can teach someone the salsa technique in four hours, you can teach somebody a decent tap routine without having them shuffling off to Buffalo for four counts of eight. I love to tap, and it wasn’t even an option on the show. Travis and Heidi also tap. I think that’s another category that America would love to see, and it stands out from everything.

BENJI: The whole time, you’re never competing against a girl if you’re a guy; and it’s the same thing for the girls. So, in terms of your demographics, obviously there’s going to be more girls voting—and if you have a cute little smile or shake your tush out there, they’re going to be voting for the guy. So, to have a female winner [and a male winner] would be very, very nice. And they haven’t released the top four results, but I heard that it was close with the girls and the guys this year, so it really could have been anyone’s game. [As far as the prize of a Celine Dion dance contract,] they want to give [the winner] a big start in whatever direction we want to go in the industry. I think to tell us we need to go in that direction when it might not be the best interest for both the company and for ourselves, it is a little difficult—not to sound ungrateful, because I’m really grateful that they gave me that opportunity—but I think giving us the tour is enough in terms of control of what we’re doing after the show. Afterwards, they kind of need to let us fly and to do our own thing out there.

ALLISON: I think they should pick if they’re looking for the “best” dancer or the “favorite” dancer next year. I think they should go for the “best” dancer. When it gets down to the top ten, what I think should happen [is] everyone who does their solo on [the] Wednesday [night show] should pick someone else’s name from a hat, and that person has to do their solo. I think that would truly show America who can do whose stuff. It would show if this jazz dancer can do swing, or that this swing dancer can do ballroom. It would show real versatility because someone can do nine pirouettes and another person couldn’t.

Oh yeah at tv.com there's some videos from sytycd that are interviews with the top four and some stuff from the first season too. There's also this awesome pic of the top 20 all doing amazing poses (jumps, etc). The top half of the picture is right on the top of the sytycd page. But the whole picture is the first pic under the listing for pictures. I tried to print it out but I only got 3/4s of it. But it's really cool.

Thanks for all the comments. I can't update tonight. It is 2:30am and I just got home from a drag show. It was so much fun. It was Miss Gay Bloomington. I laughed so hard.

Nene, what i was saying about the ctr ring is that I was talking to my friends from the church (I am a convert into the church) and they were making fun of how the guys when they get taken, they move their ctr ring to their left hand. I watched some of the videos and Benji wasn't wearing it on his left hand during the cha cha, but in the viennesse waltz 1 he was. So take it as you may, but I am definitely not jumping ship anytime soon.

Well I have to get up in 3 hours to go to a cat show. Wish me luck.

Love ya'll

Benji's latest blog!

haha isnt it weird how latest means like the current. But it has the word "late". Which usually refers to like a former thing. Eh. The English language scares me. Okay, back on topic!

Okay So IM so sorry I haven't blogged in a bit...many reasons...lots of ground to cover...here's the scoop!!!

Tour NEWS: Gosh its getting me more and more sad about the fect that the tour is almost over...at first it was like...wow we still have X amount of shows left...now i have to hug everyone in the cast b4 we even begin to warm up. its odd...i know but man its like me leaving my mission all over...only i get to hug scantily clad women!!! hahahah

Health News: My black eye is getting better. I am sooo sick with the flu and a cold. I kinda was a vector and spread it throughout the cast...theyre all getting sick too. I think i have it the worst and travis is catching up quick. WE couldn't even sign autographs tonight because of that. I even got some gripe from people in Canada because i didnt have a voice in the morning when i came out of my hotel room and walked quickly to avoid being caught in the public eye. Also, I was so sick that night...i apologize to anyone if they got sick or if i sounded like a grumpy jerk...one thing some people do need to understand is that not only do i not want them to get sick but because my immune system is donw from being sick i don't want to get any more sick as well. So its like a double edged sword for me...i hug ya, we both get ill, or i refuse and theres a nasty remark, a blog and one less person to support the show next year...go figure the pickle i am in...LOL...but im not really upset by it. love ya'll

GF NEWS: Like I'd tell?!?! hehhee

Travels after the tour NEWS:

In 35 days time i will be working in: Hawaii, Redlands, LA, Utah, Redlands, Orange County, LA, Australia, REdlands, New York, Redlands, LA, Orange County, Chile(yes Chile, doig a telethon for orphans in south america...the biggest telethon in the world with Don francisco, very famous in the latino community), Redlands, La, Oaxaca, Mexico City, HOME!!!
I am so blessed to be working....if there are any inquiries about teaching at studios or shows or charity events or especially conventions/workshops....contact me through my website www.benjischwimmer.org (shameless plug) ;P

DEMAND NEWS: I have the most amazing song im editing for my new and first piece I am choreographing for the DEMAND fundraiser o the 17th of November...its gonna be a West Coast Swing routine with my sister, Lacey. I've never seen west coast swing like the way were doing it, its going to be very ecclectic.
tickets are still on sale...
www.benjischwimmer.org/demand

Benjelle news:
Dony and I going to be neighbors...well kinda...im moving to LA, she's in the area, Jaymz and I might move in together along with my best friend, Bear. Were doing a Blakc and White Themed apartment. Every day off I have on tour, I make it a goal to find a weird piece of either a drawing, painting or photography thats in black and white...so my living room'll be a hodge podge of black and white art ive collected form this amazing experience of a tour... I did the same thing on my mission...all Oaxcan artwork and artesania workings are all over my dining room. Wow...i just sounded like a girl....hahahah...too much togetherness with the ladies of the tour...lol...my gf laughs at the fact that I know what "liquid foundation is"...im not metro...all the guys had private lessons from the heads of MAC make-up b4 the tour started in learning how to apply stage makeup...kinda cool artsy stuff actually...but I can testify to this now..i am very happy to be a dude. Girls have it way harder then guys.

Funny Moment Of the Week:

Some great friends of mine from the west coast swing dance community(aka my home) came and visited us while we were in Baltimore, where they were teaching. I have a knack for immatating people i know on the spot and I must say, being ever so humble, ahem, Im pretty descent at it. So they had to film a video notebook(film the steps they taught at the workshop of theirs for those who attended to always rememebr the steps), and I do a mean immatation of this goof friend of mine and Heidi could do a great job at impersonating his partner. So I painted my face(once again the make up skills came in handy) dressed in his clothes, as did heidi and WE filmed their notebook as them. So about 200 people will go home this weekend and watch their notebook and not know that "America's Favorite Dancing Couple" is on it. Really was an amazing time spending it with friends from b4 "the show"...that knew us back when...probably the best moment ive had all tour, well with the exception of performing and being with a special someone. ;)
I might be able to post a bit of the "video notebook alongside a picture of the two we immatated...soon...")

INSTRUCTIONAL DVDS COMING SOON!!!
I am oober excited!!! heidi and I have been in the works with a few great companies and the instructional dvds should be out hopefully by January. We have some really cool things being planned and some special bonuses for the fans. Im really upbeat about the idea...youre gonna see a different side of heidi and I as teachers(which is what we've done for a living for about 10 or so.)...with some cool twists!

Okay then Ive bored yall enough....thanks everyone for all the great gifts ive been recieving...its not necessary...you guys coming to the site, to the shows and supporting all of us dancers is a gift in itself.
Have a great day......oh yeah..............floss!

Benji

Benji you tease you. And GRR! How dare he get my Bunny sick! *looks at Benji evily* But thats okay I still wubb him. *Hugs Benji*

Hi, It's Nony!

I thought the tour was over with all the tour reports drying up. But here's a few from off TWOP.com.

I went to the show last night in Rochester, and it was great! I would love to see the whole thing again. I wish they're release a dvd of the tour. Review and notes from the show below. (If you aren't already sick of reading about the same show yet again...)

Donyelle's routines looked a bit... sluggish, for lack of a better word. I don't know if she reinjured herself, but it looked like she was just going through the motions of her routines. It was really evident in the final Broadway routine, because Benji's energy could be felt all the way back in the nosebleed seats where I was, and Donny just looked tired. I loved her on the show, but the only routine of hers that popped for me was Too Much Booty. Also - they shouldn't make the girl have to emcee right after her solo! Poor thing was so out of breath you could barely hear her! Her VFW dress was beautiful, though. :-)

Natalie was great! I never loved her on the show, but she was amazing live. I wish I could remember the song she used for her solo - I've heard it before and liked it, but forgot to write it down. She didn't have her knee taped, and she looked healthy and energetic. that girl is pure power! Loved when she made Ivan kneel so she could sit on him. Lol.

Dmitry - Rrrrowrrrr! That is all.

Ivan's solo blew me away, as did Why and the Umbrella dance. Why got one of two standing O's. He was very awkward with the mike, though. They should have just had Benji emcee the whole thing. He won, so why not?

Allison was also amazing - she had her ankle taped, and most of her costumes had these heinous sock/bootie things that looked silly, but her dancing was beautiful. Loved her dance with Travis, and that lift where she leans back took my breath away! (So not a dancer - if anything has a technical name, I don't know what it is!)

Martha was ok for me. I liked her hip hop with Ivan, but her solo was just meh. I loved her solos on the show, I was looking forward to some amazing Air Martha leaps, but I was disappointed. Also - she has a smokin' bod! Why was she dressed as Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm?

Heidi was great, always has been, probably always will be. But did they have to keep those awful boots from SexyBack? The Mambo was amazing to see live, as was the WCS. I could watch her all day long. I'm not convinced her hips are actually attached to the rest of her torso! (in a good way!) She got the other standing O with Travis for their bench routine. It was very cute - the crowd went nuts as soon as the crew put the bench onstage, and before Travis started to introduce the dance, they kind of looked at each other and giggled, like "Can you believe this?" The dance was better than I remember, and clearly the crowd's favorite of the night.

Ryan's solo was beautiful - he totally needs to join Alvin Ailey RIGHT NOW. He looked like he was really having fun during the Cuban Rhumba, and he looked better in all the group dances than I remember him being on the show.

Travis was great. Loved him, loved his shirt with his picture on it, loved him especially in SexyBack and the Tranji dance. His choreo with Allison was breathtaking.

Benji was a blast. He Is A Star. Loved his Zoolander bit in SexyBack, and the canned Donny monologue was a bit old, especially after seeing his MySpace entry, but his dancing was great. The Mambo and WCS with Heidi are two of my favorite dances. When he took his shirt off? Boy is ripped! Yowza. I hope his agent gets that kid in tv, movies, anything.

Jayymmyyzz was great in the disco number, and I think he was in cellblock tango also. Jessica was in the disco number, Ramalama, and the finale - I don't know why Donyelle wasn't, since the last Broadway was her number, but it makes me think that she was really hurting last night. It was kind of strange that they were included in the "those who couldn't be here today" montage, and then both of them were onstage in the very next dance.

I didn't wait outside for the dancers, as we had freezing rain last night, but there were a couple of dance studios that had come as big groups that were all waiting around the back doors. Benji, Travis and Ivan were clearly the favorites overall, but I saw a few signs for Allison, too. Overall a great show!

Glad to hear about Ryan getting some love.

There's another recap of the Toronto show on Duckyxdale's blog. Here are some tidbits that I don't think have been mentioned here:

Sadly, not everyone made it through the border and the news spread quickly before the show that our beloved No-Longer-Jailbait (and GMMR fave) Ivan had to remain in New York because of passport problems (DAMN YOU CANADIAN IMMIGRATION... I thought we let EVERYBODY and ANYBODY in?).

The rest of the show basically goes off without a hitch, and in fact, after a month from the last time I saw them, the routines (described in all the tour reports at Dan's site ) were even more polished and smoothly performed. I could still do without the solos and more group dances (and wished they had done Mia Michael's Imogen Heaps "Hide and Seek" routine) but they ran through everything again, only with Jaymz filling in for Ivan in all counts except during the krumping with Martha, where Travis retook his position and reminded me of why they were my front-running faves right from the get-go of the show.

Benji , hamming it up as always (and in a Canada T-Shirt to start), was in excellent form in his newly dyed red hair (apparently done while in Toronto), and hilarious in a throw-away moment that only a few of us had seem to catch, where he dramatically pulled the Fosse stage piece off the stage, pulling with Rico-Suavé flair.

Apparently the group were going to visit the Hairspray movie sets last night (DAMN, I knew I should have held out for that job and not taken this one on a show you all know and love (or should! hehe)) before moving onto the next show today.

He assessed Travis's dancing more favorably than teddy-bear did, but seemed less impressed with Jaymz:

At least we gave Jaymz a great big reception of an applause, though right off the bat from the Technologic routine, it felt like there was something missing and Ivan was sorely missed. No one can groove like that skinny white boy. Now, no disrespect to Jaymz (god, I still hate that spelling), but while he was decent, Ivan really did have something special going on, which was surprisingly most obvious in all the duets with Allison. Most especially during the Argentinian Tango surprisingly enough, which to be honest, was kinda boring this time around. I was sad about "Sexy Love" and their umbrella dance which was a favorite of mine, but luckily Allison and the choreography was still amazing that I could still love it without Ivan, with Jaymz pulling decent enough duty. Meanwhile, the Annie Lennox "Why" routine didn't garner nearly as much applause as the Buffalo audience now without Ivan in place.

Travis by far had the loudest and longest cheers, even much more than in Buffalo (I would say Canadians do have good taste and know how to pick and love them! except I think more than half the Buffalo audience was from Toronto as it seemed everybody waiting for photos and autographs after the show had also been at the Buffalo show like I was, plus the parking lot back in Buffalo was full of Ontario plates). In fact, as soon as the audience caught a glimpse of the now famous BENCH for the Mia Michael's choreographed "Calling You" flower number with Heidi , the roars overtook Travis and Heidi who seemed to be taken by surprise at its overwhelming reception and had to take a longer-than-normal pause before they could be heard doing the introduction to the routine.

Travis of course still pulled most of my attention, as I felt that he seemed to just have that extra little bit somehow in all his dances, from disco to contemporary to his Paso Doblé.

Travis and Ivan were two of his favorites, though, so that could be why. He did confirm that Travis was the only one who didn't take pictures with everyone:

It was nice to see all the dancers seemingly grounded and super nice in the after show (stalking) autograph session by the tour buses, with Donyelle filming the crowd with her own camera herself. Only Travis didn't take pictures with everybody, probably because he definitely elicited the loudest cheers and was in demand the most, so for times sake (and the fact that the dancers were freezing outside in our cold weather (I swear, it's unusually cold right now in Toronto, we aren't always an igloo state)) Travis was rushed through only signing things quickly. Everyone else was extremely cute (but much shorter than I imagined (with the exception of Dimitri, who must be about 6'1" since we were about the same height)) and took the time to pose for pictures with everyone, and Benji really did seem like the nice guy we all would be friends with in school and seemed super excited of everyone posting the photos on his myspace page.

Judging by the comments on his MySpace page, he did take pictures with a few people, at least, though one of them mentioned that he looked sick.

Benji's holding a benefit for his charity (I assume it's in Hawaii? And yes, he can't spell "benefit", but I won't hold it against him):

Mmm..The tour bus sounds like a riot. Found this most endearing quote from Travis in an article in Toronto:

After each show, fans are treated to an extended autograph session, which often means not getting back on the bus until 1 a.m. "You can't sleep on the bus, it's really hard because some people are up talking, some are watching movies, so you always want to be a part of that and see what everyone's doing. So you always end up staying up all night," said Allison Holker, 18.

"It's amazing, the tour bus. I'm going to cry when I have to leave it; it's been our home for two months," Wall added.

Still Nony, but wait there's more!

What an amazing show those kids put on last night in Toronto. The dancing was incredible and the energy they exuded was so contagious. Ivan wasn't there, so Jaymz filled in for all his numbers and WOW, just WOW...he took the Argentine Tango and Why routines to a fantastic level - he is a truly gifted dancer. Benj was a total star, a superb dancer and equally fantastic with the intros - he has a very special gift with connecting with the audience. Ryan blew us away with his solo, Martha shone in every number, Heidi was amazing, Dimitry and Natalie were fantastic, Donny was brilliant, Allison was great - the only dancing that was less than expected was Travis.

The only bad thing of the entire night was the gestapo tactics and God complexes of the theatre security - during the entire show they were yelling and shining flashlights at people for holding up phones or taking flash photography - yanking people out of the audience to escort them out to have their camera's taken to a check-in till after the show - even going after my daughters and I for looking through binoculars (and we had aisle seats so they could clearly see what we were holding.) Their antics totally disrupted the show, and at least a dozen or more times, our view of the stage was completely blocked by them as they charged up and down and stood in the aisles while they berated some poor kid that was just trying to get a picture of their idols.

Afterwards we braved the cold night and stayed at the stage door till we got pictures with and talked to the dancers. Again, all the dancers were amazing - with the exception of Travis, who totally blew off our section - wouldn't pose for pictures/only would do an autograph (which we didn't want as the program had all their autographs in it along with a handwritten message to the fans) - then he disappeared inside and wasn't seen again even though he said he'd be back to take photos....he lost a few fans near us with his attitude. Everyone else was so appreciative of the fans - Ryan was a total sweetie, Jaymz was so charming and a delight to talk to and has a way of making each fan seem very special - along with a killer smile that just lights up and warmed the crowd. Heidi, Natalie, Martha, Jessica and Allison were so great with the fans and also wonderful to talk to (especially Natalie who was quite sick with a really bad cold but stayed out there till she talked to everyone), and Dimitry was so sweet with everyone and along with Jaymz had all the girls around us totally smitten. Donny was incredible and so appreciative of all the comments and spent a long time talking with everyone. Benji was unbelievable...the poor boy had a raging fever (someone said they heard that he has pneumonia) - but he was out there for nearly 2 hours shivering and flushed faced but giving every last bit of energy making sure everyone got an autograph and pictures and time to talk. Kudos to these wonderful 'kids' that gave so much back to their fans and made last night something my girls (and myself) will remember fondly for a long, long time.

Hi, It's Nony!

Here's some more news I bogarted from Vixen. You can see the video on a link from idolforums.com, but I don't know how to make megaupload.com work

(Can somebody tell me and post a link to the myspace "Forest & Jenny" I want to read the comments yet stay Anonymous (If possible)).

In Benji news, here's a recap of yesterday's Much Music appearance, courtesy of captcanada!

- segment with Benji, Travis, Heidi, Donyelle and Alison lasted 15 minutes

- they all looked GREAT!!! Benji has reddish spiky hair at the moment, Travis has 'dreadlock' style black stripes cut in the the sides of his hair (still the trademark spiky blond hair on the top), ans Alison looked totally different, as she was wearing a fair bit of makeup.

- the host asked them about whether there was any conflict between the dancers, or any romantic liaisons - all dancers adamantly said there was none. Benji joked that he had been romantically linked on the web to everyone else alongside him (Heidi, Travis, Donyelle and Alison), and that the latest rumour had him and Alison getting married on December 2!!! Needless to say, they were rolling their eyes at that.

- they were asked what they were going to do after the SYTYCD show was over, this is what they said (in order of being asked):

Alison - moving to Los Angeles, and will be looking into doing TV shows, commercials and some modelling;

Donyelle - will continue to do auditions, dancing and get more into being a choreographer;

Travis - going to form Travan/Ivis!! Well, not quite - he is going to move in with Ivan to find a place to share in Los Angeles, to pursue his dancing. He will be doing some stuff with Mia, and also dancing/teaching at Dance Alliance. He has also gotten himself an agent (sounds like a very organized young man to me)

Heidi - will go back into the world of competitive ballroom dancing, and like the others, will look out for any dance-related opportunities that comes her way;

Benji - being Benji, started by saying that he was in the process of creating an exotic dance/strip tease routine!! To which the host said that they had a pole somewhere in the studio, to which Benji quickly backtracked on his words :-) He said that there were a couple of TV shows that he would be appearing in, and after that, he would pursue any dance opportunities just like the others.

- Benji was very low-key during this interview, he shared the limelight equally with the others and didn't try to steal the show. Which is fine, of course, but usually Benji comes across as being high energy and always on the go - maybe the tour is wearing him out! (Benji mentioned that he's got the flu in a recent MySpace bulletin, so that's another possible explanation. - RX *spoonfeeds him soup*)

- to end the segment, they also went outside to greet fans that were waiting outside the studio - the host commented on the number of Travis signs that the fans were holding - maybe Toronto is Travis country!!

I thought this interview was one of the better ones I've seen, as I learnt some things I didn't know before (ie what their plans are for the future) - and this is the first one I've seen with Travis and Alison in it too.

hmm. I dont know why but it feels like deja vu. I could have sworn that I had seen this picture before. Like, on Vixen's blog when SYTYCD 2 first started. And the initials prolly stand for "Benji Schwimmer, Cami whateverherlastnameis" Buuut, I still feel like Ive seen this before. And if I have, that would mean that the initials dont stand for Cami. Either that or, Benji and Cami were always together but Benji never told us. Eh, whatever. Maybe Im wrong because sometimes I forget my own name :) You can ask my friends! I really do!! :D :D

And NPBADATABHAIW Continues

Thanks Nony!

Hi it's Nony again!

I've got another bunch of song lyrics and to go with them are links to videos (not Benjelle videos cause I don't know how to do that). But the videos are for in case you haven't ever heard of the song before.

First is "I Never Had A Dream Come True" by S Club 7. S Club 7 ironically was made by the producers of American Idol (thusly Nigel and his crew who also wrote "From Justin to Kelly" (an under-rated movie thats like "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun"). I used to watch S Club 7 on ABC Family it's a Britcom about a singing group trying to make it in America. Though I could never figure out how they were getting their music since none of them play instruments.
Here are the lyrics:

Everybody's got something they had to leave behind
One regret from yesterday that just seems to grow with time
There's no use looking back or wondering
How it could be now or might have been
Oh this I know but still I can't find ways to let you know

I've never had a dream come true
Till the day that I found you
Even though I pretend that I've moved on
You'll always be my baby
I never found the words to say
You're the one I think about each day
And I know no matter where life takes me to
A part of me will always be with you

Somewhere in my memory
I've lost all sense of time
And so my road can never be cos yesterday is all that fills my mind
There's no use looking back or wondering
How it could be now or might have been
Oh this I know but still I can't find ways to let you go

I've never had a dream come true
Till the day that I found you
Even though I pretend that I've moved on
You'll always be my baby
I never found the words to say
You're the one I think about each day
And I know no matter where life takes me to
A part of me will always be

You'll always be the dream that fills my head
Yes you will, say you will, you know you will
Oh baby, you'll always be the one I know I'll never forget
There's no use looking back or wondering
Because love is a strange and funny thing
No matter how I try and try I just can't say goodbye
No no no no

I've never had a dream come true
Till the day that I found you
Even though I pretend that I've moved on
You'll always be my baby
I never found the words to say (words to say)
You're the one I think about each day
And I know no matter where life takes me to
A part of me will always be
A part of me will always be with you

This next one is Letoya's "She Don't" it's for when D finally decides to CTB and has to beat C off with a stick. Letoya was in Destiny's Child, but now has a hit on her own.

(Verse 1)
Hello baby, as I was walkin' by
Hesitated and then I realized
'There go David'
I was surprised to see you
And I asked 'Do you remember me?'
Boy I'm so elated to run into you here
Shadow faded with diamonds in your ears
The memories that go, I don't wanna let go
Hear you say you got a girlfriend, but I know

(Hook)
She don't even touch you like this
She don't even kiss you like this
She don't even treat you like I do
Boy you know that
She don't even touch you like this
She don't even kiss you like this
She don't even treat you like I do
Boy

Verse 2
Ooh, I see us makin' plans
Me and you, forget your circumstance
Don't be actin' like me and you don't go way back
Late night tippin' in yo Cadillac
See I'm no psychic, but I can understand
She's a sidekick, but I know all your fantasies
She can't do it to you like I used to
And you know that I know
That she can't do you like I do, whoa

(Hook)
She don't even touch you like this
She don't even kiss you like this
She don't even treat you like I do
Boy you know that
She don't even touch you like this
She don't even kiss you like this
She don't even treat you like I do
Boy you know that

(Bridge)
Look at me and tell me you ain't feelin' me
Boy you know that I'm the one you need
(oh-oh-oh)
She's a waist of time, I can love you right
(Boy you know that)
I already know you want it personal
So there ain't no need to take it slow
(oh-oh-oh)
You know your best is your first
So tell me why you're with her

(Hook)
She don't even touch you like this
She don't even kiss you like this
She don't even treat you like I do
Boy you know that
She don't even touch you like this
She don't even kiss you like this
She don't even treat you like I do
Boy you know that

She don't even touch you like this
She don't even kiss you like this
She don't even treat you like I do
Boy you know that
She don't even touch you like this
She don't even kiss you like this
She don't even treat you like I do
Boy you know that

And the last is probably one that you've never heard of especially if you don't watch Adult Swim on Cartoon Network.

There's a little show called "Bleach" on Saturday nights at 12:30am. Yes, it's an anime I know I can't be the only person here who watches anime (seriously). I fell in love with it's closing credits song, "Life Is Like A Boat" by Rie Fu.

I think it speaks volumes about where B&D were at the start of SYTYCD (sad and depressed- one heart broken, the other having quit dance)- where they are now and hopefully where they can go in the future. Okay, fair warning half of it is in Japanese- but you will never notice it- trust me. Rie Fu is just like Norah Jones or Michelle Branch or even Alicia Keyes (a great piano player/singer). This is the song I wish B&D would do a contemporary routine to.

Nobody knows who I really am
I never felt this empty before
And if I ever need someone to come along,
Who'ss gonna comfort me, and keep me strong?

We are all rowing the boat of fate
The waves keep on coming and we can't escape
But if we ever get lost on our way
The waves would guide you through another day

dooku de iki o shiteru toomei ni natta mitai
kudayami ni omoe dakedo mekaku shisarete tadake

inori o sasagete atarashii hi o matsu
asayaka ni hikaru umi sono hate made

Nobody knows who I really am
Maybe they just don’t give a damn
But if I ever need someone to come along
I know you would follow me, and keep me strong

hito no kokoro wa utsuriyuku mukedashiteku naru
tsuki wa mada atarashii shuuki de mune o tsureteku

And every time I see your face
The ocean heaves up to my heart
You make me wanna strain at the oars, and soon
I can see the shore

Oh, I can see the shore
When will I see the shore?

I want you to know who I really am
I never thought I'd feel this way towards you
And if you ever need someone to come along,
I will follow you, and keep you strong

tabi wa mada tsuzuiteku odayakana hi mo
tsuki wa mata atarashii shuuki de ume o terashidasu

inori o sasagete atarashii hi o matsu
asayaka ni hikaru umi sono hate made

And every time I see your face
The ocean heaves up to my heart
You make me wanna strain at the oars, and soon
I can see the shore

Unmei no huneoko gi nami wa tsugi kara tsuki e to watashi-tachi o sou kedo
Sore mo suteki na tabi ne, dore mo suteki na tabi ne
