I Love ER : D

Looks like all he has to do is comb down his mohawk and you can't notice the shaved spots.

Also, TV Guide Magazine(Jan8-14, 2007) mentioned that Travis Wall "had a blink-and-you-miss-it role on ER." The small article is really about Artem a SYTYCD 1 dancer. I guess he's doing really well now that he's dating a judge from "Dancing with the Stars."

Artem not Travis ;

Heading of article: Is Artem the first breakout star of SYTYCD.

Excerpt from article:

"Artem has also mamboed his way onto the sidelines of DANCING WITH THE STARS as judge Carrie Ann Inaba's boyfriend. Am I saying he's trying to date his way up to the top? Not yet. Give him time."

Hi, it's Nony!

Wow, there seems to be a lot of info going today. One of these articles has been mentioned here. But not the other one. Read these 2 Aussie articles about Donny! Apparently, now SYTYCD is airing in Austraila now. I didn't think that US versions of talent competitions would air in foregin countries (just cause it's too late for people to vote, plus shouldn't they have their own sytycd show?). But whatever more fame for B&D and everyone else.

Not too fat to dance on TVSiobhan Duck

FED up with being told she was too fat, Donyelle Jones was ready to hang up her dancing shoes forever when she suddenly found herself in the spotlight with a Mormon swing dancer by her side.

Jones says auditioning for the US reality television series, So You Think You Can Dance, was to be her last attempt at the big time before she gave up and returned to university to finish her child psychology degree.
"I had not danced for six months," she says. "People kept telling me I was too huge to be a dancer and that can be tough to hear.

"As a dancer you get a fairly thick skin, but it can be frustrating and hurtful to keep getting rejected.

"I was struggling for money because I couldn't get a job, so I decided it was the end for me after this audition.

"I was all ready for Nigel (Lythgoe, a judge on the show) to cut me so I could go home, but I made it."

So instead of packing her bags for university, Jones found herself among the 20 dancers selected from thousands of hopefuls to compete for a place in Celine Dion's Las Vegas stage show.

The show producers teamed Jones, a hip hop dancer, with Benji Schwimmer, a champion swing dancer.

Though the pair had nothing in common on or off the dance floor, Jones says they will now be "lifelong friends".

Jones says the physically and emotionally gruelling schedule of the show had brought all the dancers together during filming.

Though competition was fierce on set, Jones says there were no dirty tricks or attempts to upstage one another during routines.

"We had good camaraderie," she says. "You depend on your partner and you help each other because if they look bad, you look bad. You have to work together, even in group performances.

"Obviously it's still a competition so you want to look the best you can and make good use of your camera time."

Jones says being part of the reality television series has also been a painful experience.

Seriously injuring her big toe in the first few weeks of the competition, Jones was forced to compete - and smile - through pain week after week.

"I was in a lot of pain but you have to just get on with it," she says. "Most of the dancers were injured at some stage during the show.

"When you are working that intensely every week, it is natural for there to be injuries. The human body just isn't meant to work that hard.

"My foot was so swollen I had to wear shoes that were a size too big. And I would put my foot in an ice bucket as often as I could."

Normally a hip hop enthusiast, Jones says being part of the show has opened her eyes to new disciplines of dance.

Though she will be happy to never dance another quickstep routine in her life, Jones is keen to hone her skills in Latin dancing.

"It was a great experience. I learned so much," she says.

Compared with some of the others on the show who have been training since they could walk, Jones started dancing relatively late in life - at age 18 - when choreographers were impressed by her moves in a university production of Hair.

"Luckily I didn't have to take off my clothes - they cut that bit out - or I may never have gone in it," she says.

"I have been really lucky with how things have turned out.

"I believe it's a God-given gift that I was given the opportunity to do this."

DONYELLE Jones had made a name for herself in the entertainment industry long before becoming a contestant on the second season of So You Think You Can Dance.

The accomplished jazz and hip-hop dancer had carved a niche as a teacher and choreographer, had appeared in Black Eyed Peas and Missy Elliott videos, toured with Snoop Dogg and worked on the TV show Dance 360.

But the Los Angeles-based performer says that competing on So You Think You Can Dance was one of the hardest things she had done during her years in the entertainment industry.

"You are going to have to deal with a lot of criticism," Jones says about So You Think You Can Dance.

"That's not a bad thing, because it's being done to make you a better dancer, but it's hard when it's done in front of America and done in front of millions of people.

"As a performer you never want to look mediocre and you might think that you have done an amazing job but then the judges tell you that it was an ordinary performance and that messes with your head a bit.

"And then there's the fact that you have to come back week after week, and learn a new dance, and that can get very hard when your body is tired and you're grumpy.

"Before I started I knew it was going to be the hardest thing I had ever done in my life because of what my body would have to go through, and once I started it was extremely hard."

So You Think You Can Dance was a hit in America when it premiered a couple of years back and it has done well in Australia since it debuted on Channel 10, but the show's success was no surprise to Jones and her fellow contestants. "People can relate with the struggle and they can respect you for what you are trying to do," the 27-year-old dancer says.

"The audience loves that they get to see what's happening behind the scenes, with the contestants learning the dances, and they are drawn in because, in a way, that's its own drama.

"The audience gets to see the highs and the lows and they become emotionally attached to the contestants."

Jones says that while So You Think You Can Dance was a lot of hard work the rewards were always there to keep her going.

"The camaraderie on the show was really great and we were all as close as it seemed," she says.

"The whole experience has made me realise that I can do more than I thought and I have learnt so much about partnering, I was never a partner dancer but now I know I can pull it off."

The season of So You Think You Can Dance that Jones appeared on has already finished in the US so the performer is seeing just what appearing on a popular show can do for an entertainer's reputation.

"When I go out for jobs now people know me when I walk in the door, so it has opened a few doors for me," she says.

"But if I did it again I wouldn't read what people were writing about me on the show's (internet) message boards."
